Application

Type C silica gel is a raw material for preparation of silica sand, after drying and screening can form silochrom, used as desiccant, adsorbent and catalyst carrier. It can be used for drug purification, removal organic acid and polymer from insulating oil, adsorption high molecular protein in industrial fermentation process, adsorption harmful elements in water, gas dehydration, goods moisture-proof rust prevention, pet packing and so on.

Introduction

Silica gel is transparent or ivory-white granular solid, main ingredients are amorphous silica. Silica gel does not dissolve in water and any solvents, non-toxic tasteless, not burning. Silica gel hasstable chemical properties, does not react with any material except the strong alkali, hydrofluoric acid. Silica gel has open porous structure, high adsorption properties, good thermal stability, stable chemical properties, high mechanical strength, etc.

Added dilute sulfuric acid (hydrochloric acid) into the aqueous solution of sodium silicate and let standing, thus becoming solid aqueous silicate gel. Used water washing to remove Na+ and SO42- (Cl-) ions dissolved in the electrolyte, after drying it is silica gel. Different manufacturing methods form different microporous structure, different microporous structure form different models, such as macroporous silica gel, silochrom (type C silica gel), type B silica gel, fine-pored silica gel (type A silica gel).
